VR12 - Ancillary Equipment (heavy vehicle recovery)
Description | VR12 covers using a commercial vehicle tow pole or other types of ancillary equipment when carrying out routine removal procedures on commercial vehicles between 3500kg and 44000kg GVM, where a recovery cannot take place using standard recovery vehicles. This module also covers the safety requirements associated with the use of tow poles and other types of ancillary equipment. Learning Outcomes • Health and safety requirements applicable to the use of tow poles or other ancillary equipment • Tow pole and ancillary equipment variations • Operating procedures when towing using a tow pole or using other types of ancillary equipment Practical Outcome • The student will be able to demonstrate the preparation of a casualty, the correct fitting and removal of a tow pole or other ancillary equipment |
