IVR Formally Issues EV/Hybrid Recovery Protocol

The Institute of Vehicle Recovery have formally issued a protocol for technicians when attending to electric or hybrid vehicles in breakdown or road traffic collision scenarios.

The protocol is supported by the IVR VR27 Electric (EV) and Hybrid Vehicles training module, which all technicians working roadside should attend to clearly understand the hazards and safe recovery methods for the ever-growing number of alternatively powered vehicles on UK roads.

The Institute have also made a film at the Tow Show 2021 to support the new protocol.  This is available via YouTube, click here to view.

The reverse of the protocol also includes 10 EV/Hybrid Safety Rules for roadside technicians.
